I have always loved stories and images. As a child I immersed myself in
books that could take me to emotional places that nurtured me. In school I was drawn to research projects, reports and anything that could challenge my ability to write and create.
Early in my career as an elementary school art teacher, I created a program to help
children express themselves through images. Becoming a parent while reading to my young children, I discovered fables and legends and children’s picture books that taught lessons thru image. Working as a Mental Health Counselor, I had the privilege of holding space for the stories of people who had lived through shame and trauma while guiding them to write their own stories of hope and healing.
Today I incorporate my love of stories in my retreats, using images as a unifying thread to discover the extraordinary wisdom of God in our ordinary lives.
Recovery has taught me to live in the wonder of the moment not possession of the moment, to keep it simple while always gratefully celebrating the gift of my womanhood. My hope is to help others see the everyday gifts of grace in their surroundings and in themselves.
